£600 Sweetener for First-Time Buyers

Halifax customers who are saving a minimum of £150 per month in any Halifax account, other than its Christmas Saver, will qualify for a £600 bonus when they take out a mortgage with the bank.
This is an indication that lenders are far more likely to offer a mortgage to borrowers who are already saving towards buying their homes. Research has revealed that only 14% of those who aspire to own their own homes are actually saving towards this goal!
